This was a zombie epic I was working on. I wanted to make a zombie story relying heavily on character pieces and less on the obvious, boring zombie stuff. I did a prologue. The first chapter was partially based on an idea I once had for a stand-alone short story.
The prologue was more me introducing characters, while the first chapter was a look at what I was going to do with the story. It’s much less action-oriented (though I would probably have more action-filled chapters every once and awhile) and more focused on developing interesting characters and putting them in a setting that causes more conflict on top of their personal troubles.
